Tonight while sarging with Asian Dan, he said to me he's noticed one thing - my drinking is hurting my sarging. And he's right. Every time I've sarged I've had alcohol to help me out. That could be why my day game is almost nonexistent.
I've never been an acoholic, I can easily go weeks without it, but I've fallen in a very bad habit over the month of December. Between visiting the family 3 times in a month, holiday parties and work stress, I've been finding myself drinking every night and its clouding my mind when I need to focus on things (like sarging). And lately it hasn't been getting shitfaced drunk, just enough to get a nice buzz going on. But, I still think its hurting my game rather than helping.
So, starting tomorrow, I'll be going 30 days with no alcohol, with one exception and that's when going out with the co-workers, which occurs once every 2-3 weeks. And that's only because we have a "rounds" system in place and someone is ALWAYS owing someone else a drink.

Good for you man, I need to start doing this, I usually find myself having a couple drinks when I go out. Should be a big relief to your wallet and liver.

So tonight was the first night sarging with alcohol and it was pretty interesting.
It took me a LONG time get into my state, I was being WAY too conscious of not having my liquid courage with me.
I opened an HB8, hit the BT right away...could barely stack. Which is strange because that's typically my best skill in the field. I also got a little too emotionally invested because this girl was hitting MY attraction switches (she was from Germany and knew all of my favorite obscure German metal bands... that's fucking RARE). I let the conversation die twice, set was done. Dan and Hank were yelling stuff I could hear like "Hey, you know when you see a bike in the store you want to buy? You ISOLATE it!!"
Opened a few more sets, what I noticed is that while I was more clear-headed, the stacking ability was lower and my energy was down. My voice was getting a little raspy because I smoke and didn't have much to keep the throat from getting dry, either.
In a lot of ways it was like starting all over again, but it was worth it. I totally felt the challenges with not using alcohol to help, and it took a me a LONG time get into state, but I'm glad I did it.
And I can also analyize what I did right and what I did wrong a HELL of a lot better.

I'd be interested to hear how your 30 days of sarging goes without any alcohol.
I'll also be abstaining from alcohol for Lent.
I've found that I'll have much higher energy(BT) when drunk, but noticed C - comfort and connection suffers as my attention span shortens. It definitely removes my AA as I'll approach more frequently, but I'll lose track of my purpose for approaching and just eject as I give less of a damn.
Great to hear your feedback, and I'll post mines...
