Review for New York Bootcamp with Johnny Wolf, William, and Tommy: 03/06 – 03/08

I will write this review as it pertains to my personal experience, thoughts, and growth, and in the most honest way possible.

Background & Pre-Bootcamp:

I am soon turning 22, and prior to 2009, I had only hooked up with 4 girls, none of whom I was very excited about. As I’ve been told by others, I am a pretty good looking guy, but my mental blockades and programming really prevented me from realizing any success with women. I found out about the community about 1.5 years ago. I started transforming my thinking, but it wasn’t until I put the deposit down did I start cold approaching. Before the bootcamp, starting at the beginning of 2009, I approached approximately 50 sets in total to handle my AA, which I found to be instrumental in applying what I learned in lecture instead of being overly nervous.

Instructors/Coaches:

Upon first impression, the two instructors and Tommy (who is interning) were very different. Johnny was never easy on us, but it was necessary to get us to push ourselves. He was like what a true coach should be and would tell us not to bitch out when we needed to hear it and give us props when we deserved it. I saw Johnny in set many times and was very impressed each time. Nothing fazes him.

William, who was just promoted to instructor, was like a constant motivator. He absolutely made my bootcamp experience. He understood every single problem I had and always provided a straightforward, doable solution. I’ve always had a lot of inner game issues, and I couldn’t believe someone understood it 100%. He has a way of completely changing your mindset simply by talking to you.

Tommy, I’m sorry, but I have to say, you were definitely not born good looking. However, that is the reason he shattered my mind! I realized that I had always overly relied on my looks, and if a set didn’t open too well at first, I would just think “oh, she doesn’t like me.” It took watching Tommy fearlessly walk into sets and plow forward to actually make me realize that pickup is minimally dependent upon the initial impression. You actually need to make them like you by continuing to express yourself and plow forward. Tommy’s motivation in field was awesome as well, and his presence made the student to coach ratio to less than 2:1.

Day 1: Approached 7 or 8 sets and practiced A and B
Day 2: Got blown out a lot but was able to apply things I learned about C and D. And most of all, I got a make out! I probably spent like an hour making out with her, which is something I’ve never done in a club.
Day 3: I had one long set for most of the night. Before we left, William again shattered what I believed was possible by pushing me into a 2 set, mixed set who were obviously on a date together. I had never approached that attractive of a woman in my life, and she was with this older rich dude. The set actually went well and she ended up grabbing my hair before I excused myself. The dude was helpless!

Overall, the bootcamp was worth every penny. Understand that this basically cut away a third of my bank account, and it was a huge deal for me. I’m a poor college student. I am very glad I did this and now my perceptions and competence have completely transformed. If you want to change your life for the better, this is the single best three days you will spend doing it. If you are even thinking about taking a bootcamp, just stop thinking and put down the deposit now! Put it down for a bootcamp at least 2 or 3 months away so you have time to do all the homeworks. The deposit really pushed me to go cold approach.

Sincerest gratitude to Johnny, William, and Tommy, and I hope ABC bros will make sure I stay on this track of betterment for the rest of my life.

Hey Tom,

I'm really glad you had an awesome experience, I knew you would, I'm glad you could experience what every other ABC Alumni has.

Great job during your bootcamp, it's really mind-shattering when you have those things like your hour long make-out session on saturday.

You've got an awesome life ahead of you, in some ways I'm jealous. You still have one year of college left, you can still do a LOT of damage in that one year. From your facebook photos, yeah, you're definitely a better looking cat for an asian guy.

Plus, you go to school at Wharton. In a few years time, you'll have rock solid game, you'll be loaded, and unless you get hit by a truck or your face catches fire, you'll still be good looking. You owe it to the rest of the asian male population, Represent!!!

-Kevin

Hmm...I sense a limiting belief in that statement. Something we're supposed to free ourselves from, no?
