Background : I talked to this girl on Facebook, HB9, & got her number. Texted her (slightly ineffective), called her (she absolutely LOVED talking to me). Set up a date last week(for Saturday) but she flaked because her grandma was leaving that night. I said I completely understand blah blah blah. Texted her Wed/Thurs, called her today (Saturday) and had the dated for 8. She flaked again at 5:30 because her mom didn’t want her to go. Stupid ass excuse. L2makeexcusesYO!
So, it was either stay at home and feel sorry for myself because I had gotten flaked twice… or GO OUT. Being 17 without a car, not many places I can go… But I’ve been hearing about this popular skating rink, so I decide to head there (I have no prior skating experience). I take the bus there and get in line.

A: Hey! (insert forgotten opener here)
B: Talk about how everyone knew each other, about ice skating, had forgotten their names, joked a bit, got some laughs. Everyone bought their tickets and I left my shoes next to theirs and go out skating.

A: Hey! You guys know how to skate??
B: Girl called over two of her friends HB6 & HB 6.5 & after introductions, they teach me how to skate (I’ve rollerbladed before so I picked up on this pretty quickly).
C: I isolated one of the friends and had her telling me about her school. Number Close later.

A: Hey! You’re kinda cute. Show me how you were skating backwards
B: Had her in my arms teaching me how to skate backwards. Number Close after few minutes
Boomerang back to first set I had, new girl HB8.5 joined them. She was being hit on by some guy. – Their story, one of her friends HB6 wanted a guy’s number and sent HB8.5 to go get it. He says no he has a girlfriend, then at the end comes back and gives it to HB8.5. – I listen to that story and exclaim incredulously that that was the most unflashy pickup I’ve ever seen, no pick-up lines anywhere! I then, kino-turned the girl right in front of all her friends, told her she was beautiful and number closed.
Things I did well: I had FUN when I could’ve stayed home and hated life, I number closed, and when I didn’t I boomeranged back. Had LOTS of social proof, since I was talking to everyone, everyone assumed I knew everyone where I just went alone. 4 different sets were asking me who I came with & I said I came alone, but I’m social enough that I can make new friends on the spot. They were amazed & said that was super ballsy – Just boosted my confidence from COCKY to OVERCOCKY.
Things I need to work on: Direct & Indirect approaches, I don’t approach, I just use an excuse to talk – it gets the job done, but it’s stupid; I don’t put my intentions out there. Longer conversations, not Just number closing at Banter
