I have FINALLY Settled in to my new abode in East Los Angeles. I've got my car, my super huge audio production computer, access to a campus full of hot women, and the time and motivation to continue my body experiments with Tim Ferriss's 4 Hour Body. After a bootcamp with Johnny Wolf, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw 2 months of overeating, fat gain, and other nasty stuff. With my new male stripper roommate, he is helping me tweak the slow-carb diet (in very small ways!) to achieve maximum fat loss and muscle building.
Next week, the supplements I ordered will be arriving on Monday. This is where I will start some pretty crazy body self-experimentation. As of right now, I am taking NO SUPPLEMENTS, but maintaining a strict diet, workout regimen, and more to GET RIPPED for Halloween!
RIGHT NOW (For the last week) Diet - Slow-Carb Diet ala Tim Ferriss, altered to consume 2-3 snacks for metabolic spike ICE AGE - Manipulating body temperature to increase fat loss - 500ml of ice water every morning plus a 10 minute cold shower (IT SUCKS) Working out - 3 times a week, ala Larry Strong Style
NEXT WEEK - WITH PHOTOS COMING SOON PAGG - 4 Horsemen of Fat Loss GEEK TO FREAK - How to gain 34 pounds of muscle in 28 days - I will be taking a photo of my progress EVERY DAY. It will be posted in this thread

4 Hour body, haha
I would like to see this thing work. His theory kinds of conflicts with the talent code's 10,000 hour general rule.
Maybe Tim Ferris knows better than world class olympic athletes and their coaches. People train 8 hour days 6-7 days a week to get to their goals and the physique they desire.
I wouldn't be suprised if Tim Ferris was on steroids, that documentary 'Bigger Stronger Faster' really got me thinking.

I would have to agree... But for myself I disliked 80% of the book thought it was marketing or rehashed information ( some information is almost exactly the same as in Bigger better stronger) that is available on the net for free. The remaining 20% I found to be very useful and do apply it in my daily regimen.
I think the key is to take what you can and what fits your lifestyle/personality so you can maintain a steady discipline. If the 4 hour body work for some that's great but i don't think its for everyone.
GL Ben J stick to it and I am sure you will see some results.

Yeah Ben....I don't wanna sound like a pessimist but I gotta be honest, I used to be a personal trainer and Ferriss is making some pretty extravagant claims.
On top of that, if you're still drinking and smoking regularly, you're definitely setting yourself up for illness and possible injury by implementing this. I urge ya man.....don't increase your work outs AND decrease your sleep.
Be careful dude.

Hey Ben,
I reckon even if it does a half of what it claims that would still be amazing. Towering at 5'7" it took me 3.5 *years* to gain 30lbs, so I'd definitely be impressed with 17lbs of lean muscle mass in 28 days (even on a cycle). I look forward to seeing your results!

Here's the 4 Hour Body topics I'm covering in this entire 28 day experiment -The four Horsemen of fat loss PAGG -Geek to Freak -Ice Age - controlling body temperature to lose fat -Slow Carb Diet
After working out today, my abdominals were incredibly sore. I was in so much pain that I could not stand up and my stomach cramped heavily. My most of me was in a ton of pain. People were staring at me work out using fairly heavy weights going at a VERY slow 5 up 5 down cadence, as I grunted and screamed to keep going (1 set to failure). THANK GOD I HAVE 2 REST DAYS AHEAD OF ME. I looked in the mirror after working out and for the first time, I saw a 2 pack form at the upper part of my stomach. My abs are starting to become visible. Sweeeet.
Unfortunately, I can't post pics yet because my roommate borrowed my camera and hasn't given it back yet... Bastard
I am completely dead right now. It is time for bed...

Hey Ben, keep up the hard work. The most important thing is tracking your progress. Measure yourself, weigh yourself, write it down and use a wall calendar to mark your workouts and the days you followed your diet. Good luck and follow your roommate.
CHEAT DAY! Morning: Slo-Niacin Breakfast: Pure Shit, Alpha Lipoic Acid + Chromemate Lunch: Pure Shit, Alpha Lipoic Acid + Chromemate Dinner: Pure Shit, Alpha Lipoic Acid + Chromemate Bed: Slo-Niacin
I'm down to 188 lbs today. Body fat is shooting down, muscles are much more defined now. The greatest lesson I am learning throughout all of this is: THE NEED FOR SELF-EXPERIMENTATION. If you don't believe it, or think the claims are extravagant, test it out yourself. Build momentum by pushing yourself. It is a test of your mental endurance and physical prowess. Once you get over the hump of the first week or two, it gets very easy. I am fitter, stronger, and sharper in mind. I also feel great whenever I go out the door.
Tim said it best in his book that I have been meticulously studying for the past 2 weeks: If you want to improve your inner self, improve your outer self!
I act differently, am more naturally dominant, and guys always keep coming to me because I am seen as a leader of men, not with just my physique, but my mentality and vibe I project. I am learning a ton from this experience and experiment, and I highly recommend anyone to check out 4 Hour Body if they haven't yet.
My results are undeniable. here's what I used to look like

PROBLEMS AND SIDE EFFECTS:
Alright, total body redefinition is pretty crazy, pretty hard, and take a toll on your mental stamina, but at the same time, I feel the results are well worth the trouble. I am merely 6 days away from completing my experiment. Here's some side effects I noticed:
NO-XPLODE - Explosive morning Diarrhea. Shits the whole day: Solution: Eat more fiber. Metamucil helps, more veggies, more water
SLO-NIACIN - Extreme Insomnia. Solution: Take immediately before bed (less than one minute to bed), cold shower 1 hour before + celery sticks and almond butter with a fat + protein dominated meal (3 whole eggs will do the trick)
PAGG + B VITAMINS - Neon Techno Yellow Piss. Solution: Drink more water
WORKING OUT: Extreme Soreness: Ow ow ow ow ow ow it hurts to walk. Take protein. Do not forget 30g Casein Protein after working out. Ow ow ow ow
HIGHER SEX DRIVE: I can't stop thinking about fucking every single girl I pass... High quality problems
AGGRESSION AND DOMINANCE: Again, another high quality problem...
