After the girl I was going out with decided to choose another girl over me for Valentines Day, I decided to sign up for a bootcamp. The price was reasonable compared to $2000-$3000 charged by other companies who came to Hawaii. I packed my bags and headed to Sin City.
Day 1: Gareth was leading the bootcamp and JT was watching us. It was Gareth's birthday this weekend also. Perfect Cover. The first day we learned how to approach and banter with women. Smiling and energy was important. It was key to know your opener. I unfortunately picked one that I didn't like, since I figured everyone else would be using the same one. There were 3 of us total for the night session, and we headed to a posh nightclub. There we did a kickstart (Cheers, my name is____) and that went well for me. I finished my kickstarts first. The indirect opener, I struggled on, since the only flaw with the barbie opener was that Gareth or JT had to be in the vicinity. I also fubbed it and forgot to check my cheatsheet. I ended up changing it to something much shorter. By the end of the night I was exhausted since I'm not use to talking to so many people in one night. JT showed us he was the real deal by opening a German two set with a 6'6" blonde. Gareth split the other German and JT led her around the club, with everyone staring at him. Gareth ended up getting AMOGed by 3 guys from Texas, but he handled it.
In the debrief, it was revealed that this night was important in getting rid of our approach anxiety. We completed our missions, although I did mine sloppily. I was told my leather jacket made me look 40 and my hair was too long. A big muscular guy like me would look better with shorter hair. Unfortunately I was also told this during the sarging session so it made me lose confidence for a while. That I would say is the only negative part of the bootcamp.
Day 2: I had to get a haircut or I wouldn't be confident. I went to the salon on the 4th floor of the hotel and did it for $35. Gareth liked my new look. Today we learned the core of our exercise, Compliance tests. I had to change my gambits around because some things didn't work for me well. I ended up rushing my cheat sheet. This time around, I put on my blazer and we paid $200 each to split a table at a posh club with a pool. How any drunk people didn't jump into the water at night is amazing. We start the night by opening sets. Having had the practice from last night, I was able to open sets with ease. We did direct openers today. Unfortunately, I was only able to pull back 1 set to the table, and the other guys pulled more than me. However, I pulled the one set that counted. I ended up getting the one and only kiss close that night! I did it sloppily, but I still did it. I also got a good bye kiss towards the end of the night too. I had won the night.
Gareth helped me throughout the night, even when I forgot what a compliance test was. That re-briefing helped me to get a kiss close. At one point I thought it would be cool to go scarface with my collar and pop it out of my blazer, but Gareth told me that it wasn't the 70's anymore.
Day 3: Did the text game seminar. I found it helpful to get a girl to set up a date. We went over AMOGing and escalation. Also we got advice if we wanted to get a relationship. The other two clubs were closed on Sunday so we went to a different one in the same hotel. Here we did what we did on Saturday, except better. We were able to hook some sets back to the table. Unfortunately, it was hard to get the girls to pass the compliance tests so we didn't get any kiss closes. JT said it would take time to overcome our sexual barriers and we would just have to practice more.
Conclusion To sum it up, I enjoyed the bootcamp and it helped me achieve feats I would not have thought possible. My limiting beliefs about approaching beautiful women were shattered in one weekend. I was surprised how little I was rejected when I approached with a high positive energy. Even better was that white women enjoyed my presence. The instructors would aid me when I needed the help. Gareth was like Simon Cowell: he would tell you what you needed to hear, not what you wanted to hear. That helped me increase my skills in a short period of time. He was a pleasant and fun person to be around too. Outside of the lessons, Gareth and JT were open to answering any of our personal questions we had about our lives. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely take this bootcamp again if I need to. I highly recommend that you take this bootcamp if you are starting pickup and have no idea what to do with the material, need someone to critique you, eliminate limiting beliefs, change yourself from a boy into a man, or an extra push to reach your goals.
I've also talked to my fellow lair guys at home, but no one as of now seems like they need a bootcamp. I think I'll have to tap into other markets of AFC's around me.
