first lecture was straight forward
i appreciated that it was based more on conceptual content than memorizing
and that the drills allow instructors to gauge everyone's skill level
the first night was fun
i did my best not to hesitate
had conversation
having a table with cool people who aren't trying felt cool
had my first blowout which was a good learning experience
just going at it with anyone is fun
JT plucked a pretty girl, social obligation goes a long way
i'm trying to pay more attention
that the instructors are trying not to try is funny
the debrief is very appreciable, and even more fun

on second day i needed more energy
Sarah tagged me into two hot russians which was fun
some connection
some compliance
but we leave table
i made a few approaches, mostly stuns, which is fun to play off of
but not enough direct intent
day two is very much the culmination of verbal and non-verbal game
by now you know everything you need. don't think, just be.
Instructors are very good at knowing what to tell you
very valuable advice at one of the crazier clubs i've been to.
day three became something of a fantasy for me
where i found myself talking with the most tangibly sophisticated, successful people
at the most beautifully hand crafted palace of deserved luxury i could ever aspire to call a home.
my banter was natural and my sensitivity was genuine
with topics ranging from skydiving in qatar
to significance of environmental concern
to jazz in d minor, to the show she's DJing in chicago
to moving back from Amsterdam, and quantum mechanics in high school
to future ambitions, and racecars and beyond
only to end with a date at the grove, where the girls in line at pampas kept
accidentally kino-ing until i took notice
and Ted the movie nauseated my already pulsating face cramps.
"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit.' As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and your experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna
as with any competitive fun
to maintain progression of natural skill,
to fine tune your game
one is coached by the best.
JT, Sarah, Ben & Jay
you are the best
and there will be a time in my progression when my skill too, is good enough to teach others
PS. my only regret was not having the stomach to drive back out to hollywood with you guys that night.
