straycat, I have experienced racism. But it does not affect me in any sort of way. Because really it's no big deal. People get picked on and discriminated against for all sorts of reasons, race is just another reason. I've seen people get picked on for stuttering, for being short, for being fat etc. I've also picked on people for all sorts of reasons as well and I tend to make a lot of racial jokes because I find them funny. This is not some sort of a reframe in my mind but it's the truth, a lot of people go to comedian shows to watch and listen to racial jokes and everybody in the room will laugh. It's no big deal at the end of the day usually everybody comes out feeling good. It all come's down to your attitude bud and how well you take it.
Racism as far as I understand is a form of discrimination. I have friends who have qualities that a lot of people 'wish they had' I have friends who are so good looking, tall, built and all that shit. The bouncers dont allow them inside the club's due to intimidation, Obviously these guys want to run the show but if there's someone bigger and better looking than them they refused them entry. Does that mean my friends will make a big deal about it? no. I respect everyone for taking action in their lives and being on these forums, but some things really are trivial such as race. My tall good looking friends are not gonna go home cry, write a field report about why they were refused entry into a club. They let it go and that was the end of it, it really is that simple.
Plenty of my other friends have been discriminated against by Asians, I've got white friends who had to hide in the sewer's because they were getting chased by Asians. We just look back and laugh and plenty of my friends still choose not to be bitter towards me even though I'm Asian. I'd help them beat other Asian guys in a fight if it came down to it. Does that make me a traitor? no. I don't know them guys and I'd happily beat their ass for my friends Asian or not. If some white people were giving me intentionally mean racism, I'd happily call my other wealthy white friends to beat their ass. It has come down to these situations many times so I speak from experience. People abuse each other all the time and for many different reasons, any of your situation is not special just because you felt it was 'racist'. Hell even the beautiful girls get pushed around by the uglier ones out of jealousy. We should replace racism with discrimination because at the end of the day it's the same thing, and everybody of every race of every age experiences it sometime in their life. It's really not an Asian American thing so get over it.
