Leaps tall buildings in a single bound …….

If you want to hear of superhuman exploits then you can move on to another review. This is 2 days in the life of Kaatalyst trying to learn the art of PUA.

I chose daygame because with my work schedule, night/club game has almost been impossible. Also because my friends whom seem always to have beautiful girlfriends ironically run from daygame like vampires in sunlight, weird but true.

Day 1 –
Meeting Man Cannon, the Lecture

I met up with MC at his place and went thru the lecture portion of the class explaining the ABC’s and what links them together. The lecture was a bit of a challenge because I took another workshop a couple years ago and a lot of what MC was explaining was in contradiction to what I learned. MC said for these 2 days forget everything you learned before and just think about the ABC’s. After the lecture it was time to hit the street. Now MC seemed like an ordinary guy, just laid back. Then we stepped outside………..

Field

We’re outside and walking thru Union Square. MC is giving me openers so I can be more sociable. He demonstrates the openers on sets, when he does just two words come to mind smooth and effortless, like he does it everyday. It’s like he’s at a family picnic or just lounging in his living room, he is bouncing thru the convo with no awkwardness in body language, voice or facial expression, just flowing. Anyhow as time goes on I warm up and start opening sets, getting corrected; this was good, but you forgot this; tonality correct but body language not (so many small things involved in bodylanguage). Set after set I was getting immediate feedback. Daygame in itself is pretty slow and you need lots of patience. MC wanted me to open sets I genuinely liked, this coupled with situational logistics like approaching - from far while making eye contact, a girl standing at a street light, seated in the park or eating in the cafeteria and so on made it not an easy task. There is a memorable seated 3 set that MC opens, it’s in a cafeteria and we are surrounded by people, MC goes in (exactly like he taught) and opens, what’s so cool about this set is that MC target’s Mom was winging for him the whole time, I kid you not. She was actually qualifying her daughter it was so funny. Anyhow first day was a good warm up. I told myself I got this, Day 2 would be a walk in the park. I know what to do and what to say.

Day 2 –
Sometimes you must see the dark to appreciate the light

Before I met up w/ MC for the lecture my appetite is not there I just eat a little bit, my frame is “meh”. Don’t know what’s going on but I better get myself together. Anyway we go thru the lecture, going over my sticking points from Day 1 and going thru the DEF’s. Then we hit the field. Set 1 I open crash and burn, Set 2 crash and burn, Set 3 c & b…..“mayday” “mayday”….I’m getting blown out early…the shoulder turn….the no response, seemed like coming of the boat at Normandie. Each set MC is there correcting me, I’m hearing and trying to implement but I am getting shut down left right and center and then it happens……I don’t want to open “Houston we have a problem”. MC sees what is happening, he’s there encouraging me but I’m just wandering around now. (I’m not thinking about my delivery, I start worrying about the outcome).
Then he says “alright this set is do or die” and has me open a seated set in a bookstore among a crowd of people. I saw my target, said fuck it, rolled in and opened (it actually started by taking those first two steps), funny thing is once I made up my mind I was going and told myself just stick to the sequence nothing else mattered, crowd of people “so what”. Anyhow the set went well (tried to run thru the sequences like I was taught), she was a beautiful Indian girl studying medicine but wished she could just travel the world and …… she was married :( .

Anyhow I walked away heart beating, my throat is dry. MC is looking at me smiling saying dude you have never done that before and you did it, I am like “yeah” and I got the look like I saw a ghost. It felt good getting “the thumbs up” from MC (his work may be rewarding but it ain’t easy).

Wish I could say the cape was on with the S on my chest and I felt like I destroyed the last batch of kryptonite but……………….I was in it again CRASH AND BURN.

We’re outside now. MC has been venue changing with me a lot. And now we are in the park.

There is a set sitting on the stairs in the park, there is just a little bit of space between her and a guy. MC says go in, I reply "where, there is no where to sit", he says "right next to the girl". I take my first two steps and go in, use the opener and sit. I start some small talk with the girl but the guy gets agitated and tells me to take the girl somewhere and give him some space. I ignore him for a while but that seems to piss him off more. He seems ready to do something dumb and I had to say something to make him think twice. He gets up steps back and starts yelling at me telling me to move. I told him he better find somewhere else to sit because I ain’t moving, anyhow with all this going on the girl leaves and eventually the guy realizing it’s pointless leaves. MC sits down and says perfect. I am like “huh”. He says “stand your ground be a man, the guy is pissed because you approached and he did not”. Lesson learned don't let cockblock deter you, whether its a girl or guy, I know the girl left but guess what I stuck to my guns.

Ms Taiwan

Okay so after the fiasco. MC has me do one more seated set. I go in using the same opening sequence, she gives me a look and I am like oh oh (always thinking the worst kaat, that shit got to stop). I just stick to the plan (Later I figured out why the funny look 1) I have an accent and 2)English is not her first language) duh.

All I can say it’s a thing of beauty when you have a map and you know where you are at, our conversation was like a tennis game back and forth, she laughed at my jokes on cue, kinoed on cue, started asking me personal info on cue. I could hear MC in my head– where are we now, if on B you must do this to get to C, perfect. The funniest thing is when she asked me my name and I told her, she freaked the hell out LOL, she is like “oh my god” “oh my god” I must get your number. It just so happen my name is pronounced exactly like hers, funny world I tell ya. She is visiting from Taiwan for 3 months, she is actually a nurse wants to work in the ER, been to Mexico and does the cutest 50 cent “Party in da club” impression and oh yeah loves dumplings.

Anyhow like I said this review is not made for TV, it’s just another day in the life of a PUA rookie called kaatalyst.

Big shout out to Man Cannon. Thank you for your knowledge, encouragement and patience and most important never giving up on me. I am happy you opened sets using the same exact things you taught. It’s one thing to hear and totally different thing to actually see.

I have a long journey ahead of me, a lot of things I have to get in order, I know it won’t be easy but I took a lot away from the sessions that will help me.

Thanks again MC.
