Bootcamp Graduate: YES (BC: NYC, August 2011)
This is my bootcamp review for NYC – August 2011.

Background: Divorced w/kids from D.C. I found “The Game” around 6 years ago, and applied some of it to clean myself up and find a girlfriend. (I was a mess) I recently got out of a 4 year long distance relationship. (Ironically with a girl from NYC.) Even though I live in D.C., I couldn’t make the recent D.C. bootcamp, and decided to sign up for the NYC BC.

Gareth & William were the main instructors, and Ozzie and a few interns helped out. Basically, the 5 students were outnumbered by the instructors, lol..:) Let me start with Gareth, who is a consummate professional at what he does. Not only does he know the material inside and out, he is the REAL PUA DEAL. It isn’t until you meet him in person that you truly understand what he has been through, what he is capable of, and why he received the “Best New PUA of 2010 award”. The other instructors were very cool and knowledgeable as well.

DAY 1
The material is fast paced and INTENSE. If you do decide to take an ABC’s bootcamp, don’t make the same mistakes I made:
1. DO YOUR PRE-BOOTCAMP HOMEWORK. (I didn’t, and suffered for it in the field)
2. Bring a notepad and a comfortable/decent pen. You will get a workbook you can write in, but trust me; you will want to take notes in a more organized fashion.
The ABC’s structure is on the website for all to see, but I understood each phase and how it all comes together, much better when Gareth explained it during the lectures. Like other reviewers have said, it is a crapload of information. (My brain pretty much exploded by the end of the BC.) Take good notes!

We also practiced different exercises, some general and some that were specific to us Asians. This is probably what separates the ABC’s of Attraction from the other Pickup companies out there. (Yes, Gareth is a white dude, and Gareth understand the Asian plight.)

NIGHT 1
We went to a nice rooftop club. We each got a drink and started opening. I got blown out pretty bad a couple of times with the response: “No speak English”. Gareth later gave me a GREAT line to counteract that one..:) I let the blowouts affect me too much, but the instructors tried to snap me out of it and push me into other sets. The rest of my approaches were mediocre, but I started to loosen up and have some fun, and girls started opening me! A tall white girl started ripping off my tie, (which I later thought I should have stopped her with “Hey! Hands off the merchandise..”) but then I got distracted by a bachelorette party and started bantering with them. I ended up opening a really cute European girl and started dancing with her and bantering. It kinda fizzled out because I hadn’t learned the rest of the structure yet, lol.

I saw William with a pen in his ear, and asked him what it was for. He said he was taking notes on all of the students. This is serious business folks! They are helping us, but watching everything we do at the same time!

Towards the end of the night, I really cute Korean girl asked me for a cigarette. I said “Sure, that’ll be $75.00..:)” (Thanks Gareth) We had a fun conversation, made a connection right away, and BT spiked each other a lot. She was high fiving me for pete’s sake.. Since she was in town for the weekend staying with a friend, I number closed her, hoping to meet up with her the next day. (She never returned my texts, oh well. )

BTW, I would pay the bootcamp fee all over again, JUST to see Gareth talk to the “fat friend” while you game the cute one. GREAT wingman.

We were instructed to leave and meet up at a diner for debrief. Another student and I were walking through K-town, (W. 32nd) when I hear a “Hey!” I turn around and it’s a decent looking Korean girl. (HB7) She asks if I’ll escort her to her apt down the block. I tell the other student, I’ll catch up and walked with the girl. We bantered on the way, she’s kinda drunk and laughing at everything that I say. I number close her and get a hug. (SHOULD HAVE GONE FOR A KISS, stop being AFC!)

The debrief was pretty awesome. The instructors give you the GOOD and the BAD. They don’t sugarcoat shit, they tell it like it is. It is for your own good.

DAY 2
More intense lecture covering the rest of the structure, and one on one’s creating DHV stories. I now have a few good DHV stories, but more importantly, William explained how to structure them and what elements make up a good DHV.

NIGHT 2
We went to same club as the previous night, but had a table/bottle service booked this time. Our mission was to open and bring girls back to the table to practice BCD structure. Unfortunately, the night got kind of messed up by our table getting move from outside to inside, then back outside due to threat of rain. Tommy and a student brought like 6 girls back to the table. We immediately start gaming. I couldn’t get into comfort with a Japanese girl, so I got up intending to go find some other girls. By that time it started raining and the club handed out ponchos, lol.

There was this weird Asian guy that was talking a lot of crap to me. Something about “I commend what you guys are doing, but all of your girls are fair game” We’ll call him bald Asian AMOG dude. Bald Asian AMOG dude starts telling me that he challenged Gareth to a sarge off, blah, blah, blah. William, being the observant instructor, literally YELLS at me to forget that guy and GO! This guy was messing with the other students pretty much the rest of the night as well. Anyways, because of the rain we got moved BACK downstairs to the VIP area, and took the original girls down there. Nobody could escalate with them, and it was tough to go get other girls since our room was pretty sparse.

It was a pretty messed up night, I don’t think anyone even kiss closed. All was not lost however; I learned little things here and there, like how to deal with girls that only come over to get free drinks from you and leave..

I was the only one that made it back to debrief. The other guys stayed to finish the bottle or went home. I got more good advice and stuff to work on. I was actually complimented by a few of the instructors on my fashion also. Here’s another piece of advice: Unless you happen to work a SNL, MAKE IT TO DEBRIEF. I don’t know about J.T., but if you don’t make it to debrief that night, Gareth won’t be giving you advice the next day.

DAY 3
Even before bootcamp, I was pulling numbers, but getting a lot of flakey girls, I mean A LOT. So I spent the $100 on Gareth’s text game lecture. It was 4 hours long and fast paced and intense like the regular bootcamp. You learn how to deal with flakes & how to escalate over text. (Which still follows ABC’s structure, but with some subtle differences..) We also got some nice text lines..:)

The day 3 lecture followed immediately and tied up all the loose ends. By that time we were all spent physically and mentally. The students had one last bonding dinner and went our separate ways.

SUMMARY
The bootcamp was MORE than worth the money. Just having the knowledge that I have makes me feel different. The way I look at it, Gareth and the instructors gave us a toolbox with an arsenal of tools in it, and showed us how to use the tools. Now it is up to us to take that and build the lifestyle that you want and deserve. I have seen a little bit of “The Matrix”, and intend to take it further! Like other posters have said, just taking the bootcamp is not a magic pill. It’s what you do afterwards that will determine your success..

Thanks for the review!

What was that line that Gareth gave you?

LOL, that's the sad thing about the Community. There are Asian PUAs and then PUAs who happen to be Asian. I feel bad for the Asians who take other programs and come out the other side completely weird and without being societally conscious.
