I attended the March 2010 boot camp in Los Angeles and had a blast. My experience is as follows:
Day one class: JT personally taught me and one other student. Unfortunately, a few other ended up rescheduling. While more students may have been helpful, the individualistic attention was great. The chance to physically practice techniques (e.g. kino turn, proper swaggering, etc.) was very handy since my PUA books are text only and lack pictures. I had trouble with a canned opener, but would learn how to properly use it later.
Night one field: I am NOT a big night club fan. Playhouse was a good nightclub none the less. While I bombed my first kino turn attempt, I managed to learn and get the other attempts right. I still had trouble with my canned opener, but used JT's training to create an impromptu opener. I still needed work, but managed to go from 'not A' to C by the end of the night. My approach anxiety was still high and needed improvement, but I did better that I have done in years.
Day two class: JT started prepping me and Kenny (classmate) for day two field. The two big things: stories and table tactics. While my initial story was rough, I tried another one and redeemed myself with JT. I am not sure if other bootcamps teach this, but JT taught specific tactics for use when you have a night club table. Those would come in handy when we went to My House.
Night two field: This was the most fun out of my experience. It also helped that Wesley Snipes was a visiting VIP. JT brought extra company for a large group. I brought either three or four sets to our table that night. JT helped me tailor some Iraq war stories and I used my Droid smartphone programmed with pictures. Gareth helped me with isolation during my sets as he took one girl so I could game with the other. I should have done better at getting number closers, but did get kiss closers as consolation.
Day three class: JT wrapped up our class with AMOG counters, statistics, and preparation for potential lays. We went on a fashion trip and I saw what I had missed during my time on the east coast and in Iraq. The last club would be Cinespace.
Night three field: It was a good experience, but an unfortunate letdown compared to day two. The club was good, but the clothes I just bought would have been better for day two. While Gareth had to remind me of a few things, I finally got my canned opener to work.
Overall, I learned how to sell myself. In a job interview or networking, tactics, clothes and proper stories help to get the job. In the game of pick-up, tactics, clothes and proper stories help get the girl.
Going to take a day game camp when my schedule will permit. Good times...
