Whats up, guys! So after a month of contemplating, I finally decided to commit to a bootcamp. I've been reading a lot of JT's work over the last year and knew that one day I HAD to take the plunge. JT and Ben Did a great job answering my questions so i felt comfortable with this Decision. I'm at a pretty interesting point of my life so I was really excited that the LA bootcamp was added when it was.
I am really looking forward to working my ass off and having fun. Prebootcamp homework...here I come! Look forward to meeting everyone!
Ps. I'm from the OC so if any out of towners need some info on LA, feel free to hit me up.

Welcome! I signed up for this forum only days prior to my bootcamp, but you've got the advantage of using this entire summer to read Field reports, lay reports, routines, and implement them. If you can utilize the prep time, you're going to kill it during bootcamp!
You're taking the Los Angeles bootcamp, I assume?

Thx Jester! Yes, i live in Orange County. Btw, Bro, awesome bootcamp review! It gave me some great insight on what to expect from night to night. I will def be absorbing the material and putting as much as I can into practice in order to prepare. I'm in financial sales so it only can help my business too.
I've always wanted to get better at improv...any recommendations on how to start that?

Absolutely. Southern California is full of improv groups, ranging from high-end ones that charge tuition, to random groups of people doing stuff in parks. If you have extra $ after paying for bootcamp, I'd recommend checking out some improv either in your area or throughout LA.

Hey Jlyfe,
That's awesome you're going to be attending. I just signed up to and I can't wait! I'm glad to hear things are going well with your AA. I'm beginning my assignments right now to get it handled, because I want to get the most I possibly can out of this bootcamp. How many nights are you going out a week and how are you liking daygame?
What's your background and how'd you get into all of this?
Also do you know anyone coming into town looking for a room mate or someone in the area who wouldn't mind a friendly and honest person crashing with them for the weekend? I would definitely be willing to throw them some cash.
Looking forward to meeting you,
Prada

Prada,
Congrats on making the decision on the ABCs bootcamp! It is going to be a lot of hard work but it will be well worth it.
I originally started reading about the community about 3 years ago. I am coming of a looong relationship with a HB8 (in my book), so I have not been active in pick up as of late. I am in sales and have always been fascinated in the art of social interaction and moving people from being a complete stranger to being a client. I consistently read books from Dale Carnegie,Tony Robbins,Zig Ziglar, etc. Finally, one day, a really good friend of mine studied and became a certified hypnotist. I was always skeptical of that type of stuff. I thought he was full of shit, until one day we were at a club and he said..."wanna see me connect with this girl?" I brushed him off. After about 45min, this girl was crying because he got her to somehow talk about some personal issues...mind you, AT A CLUB!! I was blown away of the power he had with people, and the confidence he exude, which he said was part of the illusion. I thought that was fucked up, but really got me thinking about the art of social interaction and the power of words/body. I went from reading about Hypnotism to NLP then to Mystery Method, which all seemed to stem from NLP in some way.
After reading about pick up and being a keyboard jockey, I began to test some of it out last year at bars and was amazed of the results I was getting. Granted I was in a relationship, I did approaches here and there but obviously never pursued anything...I was just more interested in the process. Amazingly, the mystery method stuff was working so well that many of my friends were tripping out...even though I didn't really know exactly what was working and what wasn't. From that point, I was hooked. I wanted to get good at this, in some form. A part of me felt that some of the methods I read about were really not me and i didnt want to manipulate or hypnotise chicks (seemed kinda creepy). I was looking for a more natural approach, if I were ever to really learn a method. I then stumbled upon JTs blog and agreed with a lot of what he was saying.
Now here I am.
I've been single for about 3 months and am working on getting my balls back!! I have been out of the game for so long that I i knew I would need some help to learn how to effectively approach. I'm working out, focusing on work, going to school, hanging out with new people and doing the prebootcamp work. I am goin out 1-2 times a week, and have been complimenting and saying hi to at least 10-20 people I see during the day. Working on my homework 3 stories. As far as day game, I've done pretty well at approaching and bantering with a lot of girls, and stepped up to ones I thought were hot, with pretty decent results. No closes but good approaches to help me minimize my AA.
That's my story.
I don't have many close friends in LA so PM me and we can talk about possibly sharing a hotel. We're going to have a blast Bro!!
What's your story?

Hey man,
That's awesome to hear. I got in through David Deangelo (don't we all) about 3 years ago and I remember it was all basic social interaction stuff and then Mystery came on and that was it for me. I also just got out a long term relationship (about 2 years) last week. I'm a bit embarrassed to say that before I came across the community I would have done just about anything to stay in a relationship with a girl that attractive and fun. And even though I was already in the community by the time I attracted and LR'd her it still took me a while to end things once I realized that she just wasn't right for me long long term.
It's funny, we have the same opinion of hypnosis. It's an interesting field of study and I'll be learning more about it (NLP in particular), but I don't want to be hypnotizing girls into liking me. That's just not good enough. I want to change my life, my self, and my habits and become a person of true value.
I've been going out on a regular basis for the past few months and am still having some problems with AA. I plan on shattering it this weekend and the following weeks. I'll be doing 20 (count them) approaches every day beginning Friday after my final. I'm already nervous. Two weeks ago I number closed my first hb #10. Can you believe it! I know that in addition to the practice I've been putting in I also got very lucky that night, but that experience has helped give me the drive to really throw myself into this. I posted a field report here if you'd like to check it out. choose-your-own-adventure-f15/i-number-closed-my-first-hb10-t6051.html
So what're the clubs like in LA? I"ve never been down there. I'm from Milwaukee, WI and I know our high end clubs are probably going to be like dive bars down there.

From the clubs and bars I been to in hollywood, they tend to be mixed crowds with pretty damn good looking woman. I think the last group went to the Edison the first night, which is located downtown and is a renovated electric plant-turned bar and that is a pretty chill place. I've also been to the Standard rooftop bar which was also a great spot to game as it's open air and have a lot of couches. I think the other nights they went to the W and some other spot in Hollywood. Since this is JTs stomping grounds, I'm sure he will have some good venues lined up for us to go to work!

Hey JLyfe, glad to hear you're on board. Looking forward to meeting you at this bootcamp. It will be a lot of fun and a lot of work, but you're going to learn a ton of stuff and it will be a blast. Feel free to post any more questions on here about the bootcamp or the homework and I'll be happy to help you out.
