Your so right about talking to everybody. Being a Dentist, I come across as I need to be to my patients as semi authoritarian. Since I didnt socialize much, I found that I was doing the same thing in general conversations....bad ! Now I have slowed down my speach and thinking. In fact I no longer formulate thoughts as I do in the office while someone is speaking to me.
This way I can more completely comprehend what the other party is conveying...Its not everything..but its a start.

This really is a fantastic startup guide. I can't seem to really add much to it, since it's incredibly thorough, structured, and basically has a little something for everyone!

I will say that I strongly recommend that EVERYONE read The Game by Neil Strauss. You don't need to play the board game (god forbid!) but reading the game will definitely help a complete newbie fully understand how the pick up community can change someone's life, but at the same time it can also ruin your life too. The Game is also the only PUA literature that isn't shoving material down your throat, it's more of a narrative where the reader can truly explore the trials and tribulations that come from being a complete chump and becoming something incredible in the end. Reading The Game:

*Makes PUA stuff actually feel REAL, since you're hearing about a real life person actually do this stuff
*Gives you emotions and feelings to relate to: rather than charts, diagrams, and lame canned lines
*Immediately gives one a "sense of urgency" in order to start changing their lives.

To those guys who just aren't avid readers and get intimidated by a 300 page book: either suck it up, or get sucked into literature. As much as you might hate reading, The Game is well-written and easily understood by even high school students.

Besides The Game, I have read The Mystery Method book, which does explain the entire process of pick up through heavy terminology and pinpoints every tiny action to a science, but it's almost overbearing at times. Reading that book is like a textbook, but I will agree with Johnny and say it's good for guys who want to learn the technical side of pick up. This means you computer programmers, engineers, and rocket scientists would most likely enjoy reading The Mystery Method.

If anything in this guide should be added, it would be this one fact that 90% of community guys forget:

In order to win the Game, you need to stop playing it - meaning the guy who stops posting field reports because he got a girlfriend is the true winner of the game, not the guy who bangs 50 supermodels.
