So here is another recommendations to anyone in Los Angeles who want to learn real self defense...

this guy is the real deal...if you think JT is intimidating..you have not met my Sifu..

I have not been back to LA for over 10 years..but this man taught a lot of real life fighting.

I think he weighs 90 lbs..but he can take anyone down.

wing chun is the shiz! Did it for 6 years on and off (more off) haha

Wing chun is soooo physically and scientifically advanced, it's amazing how a practitioner can counter, deflect and displace force from their opponents.

I've had wing chun guys stand in a simple pigeon toe stance with their palms facing out and I've pushed against their palms with ALL my force and they didn't even move a single inch!

I've personally deflected forceful punches simply by redirecting the force of the punch in another direction. e.g. pak sao a straight punch, tan sao a hook punch. No matter how HARD the punch comes at you, a simple movement of your blocking hand at the correct angle with deflect ALL the force of the punch effortlessly.

Straight line punches are extremely quick and effective too. But I love how wing chun teaches responsive and reflex skills through chi sao.

WC is definately effective and really does work in real life situations. It's also best suited for us short skinny Asian guys cause it doesn't require a lot of physical strength.

Straycat I'll have to chi sao battle you one day!

Ozzie,

you should check it out. This guy is good. His best students are tough street kids. He says he likes teaching them b/c they have natural talent. Ha.
