AFC Adam Lyon's "Meta' Game

Went to an Adam Lyons seminar last week and brought up this thing on how to deal with a venue with a ton of PUA's, AMOGs, and oversarged sets in a venue.

He said this came from going to club in London that had PUA's everywhere using old "1.0" pickup routines.

For example, you see a guy go up to set and say something cliche like "Who lies more, men or women?" After he gets blown out, you basically approach the set and say "Did some random dude just come up to and ask you lied more? What's up with that?" And there - you're in set.

This struck me because I've been doing something similar over the last couple of months a few times a night.

One night I said to set who just blew a guy out "Hey, my buddy and I were just talking pickup lines and I'm just wondering - what did that guy use? Because either you're really mean or it was really bad line"

One thing I've been using lately when going direct is saying "I just have to say, you ladies look absolutely beautiful tonight" followed by "just curious, what's the best pickup line you've heard tonight?" 80% of the time the reaction is "That one" where i follow it with "I'm just smooth like that, I guess." I'm finding that it conveys interest, qualifies, and pumps a little BT pretty quickly.

One tactic Adam Lyon's has also taught which I have yet to implement successfully is to talk to quickly a open a set you're interested in and eject (when building social proof in the room first). Later, when a PUA/AMOG is hitting on her you stand behind his line of view. Point to him while making wide-eyed face, making a swinging motion with your arms (like fucking) followed by a thumbs up and wink, then walking away.

Basically, according to Adam, you've just told the woman that this guy is trying to fuck her. His theory is that everything this guy says to the girl from that point on will be considered a method to trying to get into her pants, and her defenses will be raised, and all of his game will be wasted. Like I said, I have yet to implement is successfully, but I've only tried it a handful of times.

He basically goes into a club pretty early and warms up everyone in the club, then ejecting at a high point. Later on in the night lots of people in the club will reconise him and it will look like he knows everyone! Massive social proof.

Adam is a great and brilliant dude. I don't like the idea of blowing other PUAs out by being negative, but if someone uses a shit line, I will gladly tell the woman I think it's shit. I do, however, use your line all, although I use the OPPOSITE of it: "Hey. What's the WORST pickup line you've heard tonight?" You can usually laugh about it with the girls and very rarely do they have any idea that that, in and of itself, is a pickup line.

I also agree with TheCoolAsianGeek. Neil Strauss was talking about warming up the crowd in that way. Taking your opener; "Gummy bears or Gummy worms?" and polling the whole bar. Just open, ask and eject. No threading, no stacking, nothing. Once the evening is a bit more social, people will use that as an excuse to approach you ("Hey, how did the bar ratio turn out?") and you have an excuse to approach in comfort ("Hey gummy worm girl, I got bad news for you, you're in the bottom 30%"). I haven't actually done it, but it's on my list of things to do!

One other thing I tried once was rescuing a girl from an AFC who wasn't leaving her alone. I said "when he comes back, you want me to pretend I know you?" She said sure, and sure enough, when he came back, I was like "hey, Jackie!"

That actually came from the movie Hitch if you can believe it.

Girls love that stuff and, when you get good enough at eye BLP and reading people, you'll be able to tell just when to do that without even asking. Adam also talks about using it in REVERSE.

He discusses the idea of engaging a girl and getting her on a rant and then making eye contact with other women and giving them sort of a "Help me" look, to get them over or to engage them afterwards if the girl goes to the bathroom. Very interesting.

I'd be careful of using anything I'd seen in Hitch though
