Here are some thoughts on karaoke game if you are specifically Asian:
If you are solo sarging…it helps to be doing it in a karaoke bar because karaoke is an Asian invention … so if you are Asian --- it explains why you are there (for the love of singing). This is kinda funny because most AMs I know can’t sing worth crap.
I don’t have a strong accent but some White people did have the balls to tell me that I do speak with a “lisp” or something like it...almost like a slight abnormality in the way some Asians speak. I youtubed up some stuff on the topic of accent reduction and found some people saying that if you want to reduce your accent that you should speak slower and focus on pronunciation ect. So I picked some slower paced songs to practice up at…while making sure they are popular songs.
I practiced up for a few weeks singing some songs that are in my vocal range and tried them out on Singstar and American Idol for PS3…these games show the notes and how well your pitch and timing and the game tells you how well it thinks you did. The games are not perfect judges and you can score perfectly while still sounding like crap but the most important part is that it allows you to hear your own voice and how your song sounds.
Do not pick any love songs – pick one that pumps one’s BT.
After a few weeks of practicing and narrowing my song choices to about 3 songs to master – I was ready for the bar. All you really need is about 2 or 3 good songs to master and you can just run them at various places repeatedly. At any given night (considering the number of people in the bar) you are unlikely to have more than 3 turns at the microphone on centre stage).
Make sure you have your DHV stack, routines, kino, gambits etc. ready in case some hotties open on you.
See if you can do good BL while you are performing…it adds to the presentation. Act like a real rock star.
IF you have the balls to do this then it will work better than night club game.
