FR: 5/27/12

Around 2:30pm.

A cute woman walked past me yesterday.

I turn around and chase after her. When I finally reach about two arms length away, I say, "Hi there!"

She turns to look at me.

At this point I'm side by side with her as we are crossing the street. "Listen, I saw you over there and I thought you were really pretty. I wanted to say hi."

She stops walking in the middle of the street, gives me a surprised (in a good way) look and smiles back at me.

I lightly touch her on the shoulder. "My name is Mike." We shake hands and we introduce ourselves. "So now that we've gotten that out of the way, I really think we should get out of the street because I don't want to get run over."

She laughs and says, "Oh yeah!"

When we reach the other side of the street, I stop walking to see if she does too.

She does. *Compliance Test Passed*

I ask her what she was doing that day.

"I just bought my lunch and now I'm headed home."

I told her that I was on my way to meet with a friend. I noticed an accent and asked her where she was from.

She said she was from Algeria.

"Nigeria."

"No Algeria. Not Africa."

"Oh okay!"

She laughs and asks me if I'm a student.

I tell her I'm not.

She nods her head, maintains eye contact with me, and smiles.

We talk more as I improvise some quick conversation. After a couple of minutes of talking, I tell her, "Well, hey, I know you've got things to do. So do I. It was very nice meeting you." I extend my hand.

She grabs my hand.

We shake but I don't release. I continue making eye contact and smiling. I use the silence to my advantage.

She gives me a warm smile back and doesn't let go either. *Compliance Test Passed*

The moment feels magical. (Insert "Awwwwww" here)

I ask her, "Are you single?"

"Yes", she smiles.

Great, let me see your phone. We'll grab some coffee.

"But I can't today!" She tells me.

"That's okay, we'll set it up another time." I smile. "Coffee is innocent" I wink.

She laughs and pulls out her phone and she pretty much does the number close for me. *Compliance Test Passed* She grabs my phone and enters her number. Then calls. Then she pulls out her phone. Then she makes sure everything is good by typing our names in the phone for me. Done deal.

I give her a hug and she hugs back. We go our separate ways.

I later text her to maintain a presence but to also see if she responds back.

She does.

Day 2 should be nooooo problemo.
