My objectives are to get a 6-pack and get into good physical shape to be more prepared to pursue my athletic goals. So, I'll have a work-out regimen and a strict diet. My work outs will be tailored towards my athletic interests and my diet will be based on the slow carb diet. This will last 8 weeks, and I will start this diet and regimen on July 10, at which point I'll have finished moving to a new city.
Rules of the diet: 1. No "white" carbs, ie any carb that is or can be white 2. Don't drink calories, only water allowed for beverages 3. No fruit or dairy 4. Must eat whatever I want, whenever I want, on one day of the week, every week (I'm choosing Saturdays)
Rules of the work-out: 1. Monday-Friday mornings: 20 minutes of high-intensity interval training / weight training before breakfast 2. Monday and Thursday evening: both wrist exercises and stretches for back and legs (for athletic interests), kettlebell swings 3. Tuesday and Wednesday evening: stretches for back and legs
Rules to make me accountable: 1. At the start of every week, Sunday, I'll pay Graphyte $300 2. Each day, Sunday through Friday, where I successfully meet all diet and exercise goals, Graphyte pays me back $50 (so I'll get back all $300 if I play by the rules all 6 days) 3. Post here at least once a week (more if I have time) to update the forums on how I'm doing with my challenge
If I want the girl of my dreams, then I need to be the man of hers, right? Well, this is me taking another step in that direction! This is gonna suck, but it can only benefit my body and mind.

Jinjo - This looks good.
Some carbs are good, others aren't.
For example, Simple Carbohydrates (such as sugars, fruits, etc.) are counterproductive for weight loss. Sugar is the worst carb.
Some of the complex carbs, however, are great. Specifically vegetables. That's why during the Cutting Season, professional body builders focus on lean meats and veggies.
Grains, breads, etc. aren't productive if you want to cut.
As for the cheat meal, that's a good idea too to spike your insulin levels once a week. An alternate method some people use is strictly minimizing carb intake for about 3 weeks, then flipping over to mass gains by overloading on carbs for 2 weeks.
Protein is your friend too. Think about taking in a 1/2 gram of protein per pound of body weight every day when you're toning up and losing fat. Then when you want to build muscle and strength, double it to 1 full gram of protein per pound of body weight.
Please post your updates on this thread. I'm interested in hearing your progress and any sticking points.

Sounds like someone's reading some 4 Hour Body!
Love that book! Enjoy it Jinjo!
If you need some help picking out meals, the 4 hour blog has some fantastic recipes that taste great which helped me out when I started out the Slow-Carb diet. I'm doing damage control here in Thailand and I'm looking pretty much the same as before. Good luck with your challenge buddy, you're gonna be amazed at yourself afterwards!

Update! I've been doing this for two weeks before. Since I've done the diet before, I already know it's effective for my body, and I'm aware of the small changes I can make in my life to make it easier. Feeling results already. Last time I did this diet though, I started slipping after 3-4 weeks when I allowed myself exceptions to the diet -- at that time, I was dieting just to try it out, not really for any objectives, but now I have an objective!
Workouts have been changing depending on work schedule though. I'm in much better shape right now though.
Overall, so far so good.
