I live in a small town in SoCal, so it's a bit more difficult to meet HBs. But since I'm putting extra pressure on myself ($50/day), I need to talk to any HB I see.
Day 1: 8/19/2010
My friends and I were eating lunch when this hot waitress walked by. She's a hot brunette, HB8. I knew that since I live in a small town, I might not get a lot of opportunities. So I just went for it. I said: "Excuse me, this may seem random, but I just wanna tell you that you look really cute." She smiled and said thanks. Based on her reaction, I knew I made her day. Because she was really busy, we didn't get to have an actual conversation. But it feels good to get the first one under my belt. On Day 2, I will travel to Palmdale mall and try to do 5 sets. My goal is to have a conversation and a phone # close would be a plus.

Day 2: 8/20/2010
Went to the mall today at Palmdale with my wingman. Checked out the bookstore first. Not a lot of HBs there at all, I think it was just bad timing. Saw a cutie at the Teen section, started asking her questions about Twilight books, and just when I was about to tell her that she's cute, I hesitated cause she looked really young. Since there was not a single legitimate target at the bookstore, we moved on to the actual mall. At first we couldn't find any HBs who didn't work at the mall. There was one blonde who walked by, and due to a slight hesitation on my part, she's gone. Then my friend pointed out this blonde HB8 who worked at a clothing store. I went in, browsed for a couple of minutes, then I approached her.
Ddra90n (Big Smile): Hey do you work here? HB (Smile): Yeah Dddra90n: I don't do this very often, but I wanna tell you that you look really cute HB (Much bigger smile): Thanks Dddra90n: Are you from around here? HB: Yeah, I go to ABC College, studying ... Ddra90n: Oh, so you wanna teach .... HB (Still a big smile): Thanks (again for the compliment) Then I ejected.
For future improvement, I definitely should have kept the conversation going for a little bit longer. Perhaps telling her that I'm new to the area, ask her what's there to do around the area, and then ask for her phone number so we can hang out. She was just so happy that I complimented her ... she literally thanked me three times and had a huge smile during the entire conversation.
Anyway, after that first one, the rest of the day was a lot easier. We went into a sunglasses store and there was this HB6.5 (latina i think). I and my buddies did this "gay" thing with pink sunglasses that really cracked her up. Later that night, we went to a hookah lounge to just chill. We were trying to learn to blow some smoke rings, and these two HB6.5s (white and black) were giggling when they saw us. Somehow it turned into another funny "gay" joke that broke the ice. One of the girls came over to my ear and tried to demonstrate her technique and another touched my friend's shoulder. I still haven't taken the Bootcamp yet, but I know those are good signs. My friend also teased the waitress by saying "what kind of waitress are you?" when she said that she didn't know how to blow the ring. It worked very well.
I will be back in my town, so it's more difficult to find the hot ones. But my goal for Day 3 is to ask for phone number.
Note: My friend also suggested that when a girl tells you that she already has a boyfriend, ask her if he treats her right.

Day 3: 8/25/2010
Was really sick the past few days, so my wingman agreed to give me some sick leaves. The community college fall season finally started, and that's where we hit today. I hesitated for a couple of sets, but finally went direct on a HBWhite7 who told me she has a boyfriend. That was it for me. Saw few more sets, but didn't open them. In the future, I need to build the stamina to open more sets, even if I finish the one-set minimum.
Note: I saw a two-set at a restaurant, but really wasn't sure how to open a two-set. Anyone tips?

2-sets daygame
You open the same as you would a 1-set, however you acknowledge the other girl shortly after your direct opener, e.g. "You are cute too, but I have a thing for girls with glasses/LV bags/red shoes/or whatever"
You can also include her in the conversation later on.
In my experience pick-up doesnt change that much in daygame if it's a 2-set, so go out, try it out and find it out for yourselves what's working and what not.

Day 4: 8/26/2010
First number close today. Went back to the community college with my wingman. At the library, I saw this hot blonde 8 with tattoos. My wingman was hesitant, so I went for it.
ddra90n (Smile): Excuse me (brief pause). I don't do this very often, but I really like your style. HB (smiles): Oh, thanks. ddra90n: Seriously, I don't find a lot of girls with good style like you. By the way, my name is ddra90n. What's your name? HB: Hi, my name is ABC. ddra90n: Can I sit down for a minute? HB: Yeah sure. ddra90n: So do you go to school here? HB: Yeah, but I am actually from LA. How about you? ddra90n: I am actually from SF. It's so hot here, I'm like a fish in a desert. ... some more talk about school ddra90n: So what do you do around here for fun? HB: I really love hiking. There are a lot of good places around here, like (bunch of places to hike). ddra90n: OMG, I love hiking too. I actually just came back from a 5-day hiking trip from Machu Picchu in Peru. HB: Really, that's cool. ddra90n: We should go hiking together sometime. HB: Yeah, we should. ddra90n: You want to exchange numbers? HB: Yeah, sure.
It was such a great feeling to get her number. Damn she was hot, those blonde hair and blue eyes. My question is: once you get her number, what do you do? I hear that there is a whole science to the text messaging. Any tip will be greatly appreciated.

Day 5: 8/29/2010
Talked to a HB7 today for 45 minutes. I was at Barns & Nobles humor section when this blonde walked by and started reading a book. At first I was reluctant since I saw her and her mom few moments ago. But this time her mom was out of sight, and she seemed to be in a good mood. I went indirect on her when she picked up a book with a funny title. Tried to build attraction by making some funny remarks about the book, which made her laugh. Then I was able to build comfort by getting to know what she loves to do (writing, photography, cheerleading) and what I love to do (reading, photography, travel). I was able to throw in some knowledge by talking about some exotic places to travel to take cool pictures. She threw some hints that she liked me: talking to me for over 45 minutes (her mom had to literally pull her away), asking me for my age, initiating talk after I stopped talking, telling me that she usually doesn't remember people's names but remembered mine, hugged me twice when we were saying goodbye, implied that she doesn't have a boyfriend by mentioning her ex, and asked me if I had myspace. The deal breaker for me is that she is a senior in high school and I'm 25. My question for anyone reading this is: if you are 25, would you date an 18 year old?

Day 6: 8/30/2010
AA always comes back to you. Everyday. It finally got to me today. There were two sets that I could have opened that I didn't. I kind of redeemed myself by approaching a set near Walmart. A hot brunette 7 was sitting on a bench smoking. And I had to walk 40 feet while she watched. That was a long march. I opened my set, and she was delighted by the compliment. But she was already married.

Day 7: (9/07/2010)
Just spent the weekend doing the bootcamp with Kevin and the gang. It was awesome and inspiring. Today my friend and I saw this hot chick at Starbucks. She was smoking and drinking coffee, so I approached. My main goal right now is to approach so many sets that I don't give a f*&% anymore. I approached, tried to banter a little, but she wasn't very responsive. She already has a boyfriend and a "stepson." WTF, she looked like she was in early 20s. My goals for the near future is to develop a "don't give a f&^% attitude and banter better (delivery and quick thinking).
Does anyone know a good way to improve bantering/teasing skills? Like taking an improv class?

Hey dd,
I think that when it comes to bantering, some people are naturally good at it, while others definitely need practice; I'm part of the latter group. The only way to get good at bantering is by practicing and practicing- just get out there and flirt with girls. Eventually you'll become good at it IMO.
If you need to up your improv skills, try looking into toastmasters. This is basically a group that solely dedicates time on improving their spontaneous conversational skills. They have different classes that can be tailored to your needs too. For instance, if you want to learn how to give out great presentations, they have a class for that. Or, if you want to get good at being funny and you're comedic timing, you could take a course on stand up comedy. These are only a few classes that toastmasters has offer. Ultimately, all these courses are meant to HELP you on your IMPROV.
Check out the site: toastmasters.com
Hope this helps mate!

Thanks Nineteen, I actually joined Toastmaster few months ago and it has already helped me a lot. I would also recommend this to others who want to get better at bantering. But you are absolutely right, the only way to get better is practice.
Cheers.
